Within a school, nothing affects student outcomes more than the quality of the teacher, but Utah is in the midst of a teacher shortage. We graduate less than half the new teachers we need each year. This shortage threatens quality, as well as the ability to expand programs like computer science. Envision Utah led a group of legislators, business leaders, and education leaders to identify what’s needed in the current marketplace to attract and retain more world-class teachers.
